The young couple, Kate and Julian, held hands as they entered their first house. Kate had long, blonde wavy hair and green eyes that looked like emeralds. Julian was tall and had brown hair, and hazel eyes. They were high school sweethearts, fell deeply in love, and shortly after graduation got married. To call the house "huge" would be an understatement. It was a beautiful two story mansion, painted with a beige paint on the exterior. The house was surrounded by a colorful garden in the front, and a pond in the back. The inside was just as beautiful. A spiral staircase and wooden counter tops. Twelve rooms all sealed shut with wooden doors. Kate and Julian planned on having a large family, so they bought a very large house.
For a few months, they enjoyed the house and one another's company. However, the wife found herself lonely everyday since the husband went to work. They started to fight and argue about his job often. One night after a big dispute, she wanted to take a drive to clear her mind. She began to cry and lost sight of the road. Her eyes were so blurry she could barely see anything. She lost control of the car, and the car headed into a lake. "Splash!" was the sound of the car sinking. Sadly, Kate drowned. Julian felt as if it was his fault she died, since they had an argument the same night, which lead her to take a drive. He blamed himself. Julian was so lonely, but grew a severe temper. All of his family members were deceased, so he really did not have anyone.
One night, he made up his mind that he could not live without Kate. He wrote a suicide note, and put a rifle to his head. Neighbors complained to police about a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot. The police discovered the body a few days after the death. No one has entered the mansion after the police. No one wants to go into a house that once held a deceased body. All of the neighbors moved. They no longer felt safe in that community.
Decades later, a young girl named Rose awakes. She is eager and ready to start high school. Today marks the first day of the school year. Rose had to walk to school since both of her parents worked a lot, but it was no bother. She was used to not being with her parents most of the time, and she loved the outdoors. However, this walk would change her life forever.
Rose looked down as her new pair of converse touched the old, cracked sidewalk. She noticed her foot had been joined by a line of red roses. She began to pick them up to see what they lead to. Rose found herself standing in a garden of an old mansion.
Suddenly, she felt as if a knife went through her brain. Her complection faded from rosy red to a dull gray color. The veins in her eyes started to spring out like spider webs. She could feel her body quiver with every step she took down the old, cracked, bumpy, sidewalk. The weirdest thing was Rose felt as if she had no control over her body. Tears of fear began to trickle down her cheeks. She managed to pick her head up to look at the mansion.
The color resembled of the paint the sky during a hurricane-dark gray and light black. All of the flowers in the garden, except for the few she picked up, were completely dead. They were dark brown, and the leaves were wrinkled. The aching pain in her head grew more, although she didn't think it could get any worse. Rose could barely think, but she knew these strange reactions had to do with the mansion.
Black. Everything in her sight went black. Rose's body was still quivering. Black was all she saw. She found herself lying on the sidewalk many minutes later. All of her reactions were completely gone. Rose quickly got up and ran the rest of the way to school. She could feel beads of sweat trickle down her forehead.
She did not tell anyone what had happened. Rose could barely explain it to herself. She knew no one would believe her. One thing was for sure: no matter what, she would never pass by that mansion again. Rose spent the rest of the day wondering what really happened. As soon as she got home, she went right to sleep.
The next morning, Rose woke up a few minutes early. She would take a different route. Even though this route was much longer, she would do anything not to pass the mansion again. After leaving her house, she took a right turn, instead of the left she took yesterday. The sun was beaming bright. Rose smiled to herself. She was happy to finally focus on school today. Out of nowhere came a dark, gray cloud. There was an extremely loud bang of thunder. All of the trees in the neighborhood began to whistle.
Rose found herself at the back of the mansion, laying on the edge of the pond. She had no idea how she was anywhere near the mansion, since she took a different route this morning. She began to cry again. Rose knew she was put into a bad situation she could not avoid. As she struggled to stand up, another loud bang of thunder flooded her ears. Along with the thunder came a strong gust of wind, which pushed her straight into the pond. She felt her body sink further and further down, but Rose no longer had control.
The water was so cold, it felt as if nails were digging into every part of her body. Unfortunately, Rose drowned.
To this day, the body has not been discovered. One thing is for sure: when the mansion was built, someone put an evil curse on it. Whoever comes into contact with the
house will suffer deeply before drowning. For example, Kate struggled with her husband for many weeks. Rose experienced cruel reactions, such as the terrible pain in her head. Whoever comes into contact with the house is cursed, and will drown eventually.

lizsixthperiod,
I like your story. I like how it all comes up to a conclusion joining both acciddents, Kate's and Rose's pain before drowning. I also like like it because during some points of the story it gives you this scary and shivering feeling of horror. I love it!!!

I loved how you described the house in such detail. It's sad that such a pretty house was evil though. But I agree with the other comment from am, how you joined kate and rose's deaths to form the conclusion of a curse was very clever. :]

You had a really good similie in the first paragraph when you wrote that Kate had green eyes that looked like emeralds.
